  • Food Self-Sufficiency: The ability of a country (or family) to produce enough food internally to meet its population’s dietary needs without relying on imports or external assistance.2

Factors Facilitating Food Distribution:

  • Addressing regional imbalances: Moving food from surplus areas to deficit areas.6

  • Catering to vulnerable groups: Supporting acutely poor households, orphans, refugees, and school feeding programs.
