- Fought for land rights and racial equality.
- Kenya African National Union (KANU)
- Formed in 1960 by Odinga and Mboya.
- Kenyatta became its leader after prison.
- Fought for independence and unity.
- Kenya African Democratic Union (KADU)
- Formed by Ngala and Moi.
- Represented smaller tribes.
- Acted as opposition to KANU.
