HITLER’S FOREIGN POLICIES (1933-1939)
General Aims of Hitler’s Foreign Policies:
- Turning Germany into a great nation: Through rearming, uniting all Germans in Austria, Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Germany, and forming a strong central government with a single political party.
- Reverse the Versailles Treaty: Undo the harsh conditions of the Treaty of Versailles.
- Recover lost territories: Regain industrial areas and expand to accommodate a larger population.
- Lebensraum: Creation of “living space” for displaced Germans by extending the Reich towards Eastern Europe, including Poland and Czechoslovakia.
