Force and Torque
- Force: Can act on a rigid body to cause it to turn about an axis.
- Torque: The turning moment of a force, calculated as:
T=F×DT = F times DT=F×D
Where:- T = Torque (in Newton-meters, Nm)
- F = Magnitude of force (in Newtons, N)
- D = Perpendicular distance from the axis (in meters, m)
- The magnitude of the torque increases with an increase in the size of the force.
