Antibody
- A protein produced by the body in response to an antigen.
- It neutralizes and reduces the toxicity of an antigen.
Antigen
- Any foreign protein that stimulates the production of antibodies when it enters the body.
- Antibodies are made by white blood cells (WBC) called lymphocytes.
- Antibodies are produced a few days after disease attack.
- Lymphocytes remain after infections to remember any attack from the same antigen and are called memory cells.
