Scene 1:
- Lady Macbeth sleepwalks and imagines blood on her hands.
- Her guilt is destroying her.
Scene 2:
- Scottish soldiers plan to meet the English army to fight Macbeth.
Scene 3:
- Macbeth prepares for battle, still believing the witches’ prophecy.
- He learns Lady Macbeth is very sick.
Scene 4:
- Malcolm orders his soldiers to cut branches from Birnam Wood to hide their numbers — fulfilling the prophecy.
Scene 5:
- Lady Macbeth dies (likely suicide).
- Macbeth hears Birnam Wood is moving — he realizes the prophecy is coming true.
Scene 6:
- Malcolm’s army approaches the castle.
Scene 7:
- Macbeth kills Young Siward in battle, feeling powerful.
Scene 8:
- Macbeth fights Macduff, who reveals he was born by Caesarean (not “of woman”).
- Macbeth is killed.
- Malcolm is declared King of Scotland and peace is restored.
