Short Story: “The Lost Puppy”
One sunny morning, Lameck was walking to school when he heard a soft whimpering sound near the roadside. Curious, he looked around and found a small, brown puppy stuck in a bush. Its fur was dirty, and it looked scared.
Lameck gently freed the puppy and carried it home. His mother was surprised to see him with the puppy. “Where did you find it?” she asked.
“It was alone and frightened,” Lameck replied. “Can we keep it, please?”
After thinking for a moment, his mother smiled. “We can give it some food and water, but we must also look for its owner,” she said.
The next day, Lameck and his mother put up posters in the neighborhood. Soon, a little girl came running to their house. “That’s my puppy! I’ve been looking everywhere for him,” she cried.
Lameck returned the puppy to the girl. She thanked him and promised to take good care of it. Lameck felt happy knowing he had helped someone in need.
